day 1025 - the holy family and the not so holy

i purposely shot this: an enclosed nativity scene in front of the old toronto city hall and the family that stopped to look at their shopping bag near the display. the child was caught looking at the camera while the father is blurry from moving too much.

day 1024 - shopping at the eaton centre

i can assure you it was a bitch trying to buy anything at any shop at this mall at this time of the year. however, surprised that there was not a lot of people. but i'm sure they'll all show up a day or two before Christmas. and don't even think about going there for boxing day. note two more reindeers and the Christmas tree that changes lights.

day 1023 - oh! Christmas tree

tonight i took partner out to dinner for his 69th birthday. after having a large baklava dessert, we decided to walk off the calories by taking photos of the light display at the greek town parkette. this is the illuminated Christmas tree, and there happened to be a pair of lovers arguing about something.

day 1022 - reindeer

not the one whose nose glows red but a whole flock each illuminated by a thousand fairy lights. the eaton centre has these giant reindeers all over the mall.

day 1021 - blue lights

the orb Christmas tree at Dundas Square changes lights from white to blue. caught the blue segment.

day 1020 - the reason for the season

sometimes some things look better in black and white.

day 1019 - they're back

the swan pair is back, quite surprisingly.

day 993 - greeting shadows

finally, the sun shone this morning. there' a vacant store space on the danforth and the previous business had this sign on the glass window. i like the reflected letters on the wall.

day 989 - the boathouse

a boathouse along lake simcoe northeast of toronto.

day 988 - back off, buddy!

this car was driving so close to our vehicle. partner had to change lanes to make way for him but didn't pass. after quite a distance, we went back to the passing lane and then this car did the same thing. so, what to do? i took my camera, got on my knees on my seat to shoot his license plate. he didn't clue in at first then he started to ease off. still didn't pass when he had the chance. turned out it was a damn woman driver who was on her friggin' cellphone. partner got caught in slow traffic and when this car passed us on the right, i opened my window, and blatantly showed her i was taking a picture of her. it is illegal to drive and be on the phone in ontario but the law is broken every time by drivers like this one.

beautiful sunny day, gorgeous blue skies, accentuating the golden leaves on trees.

well, it is not really a tenement building; in fact it is an expensive condominium west of the city with a beautiful view of lake ontario.

why can't i get a photo like this when i am in a proper place? that sunset was awesome, i assure you.

at monarch park, a maple leaf on a thin branch along the sidewalk.

this is the 'co-op' office building of the UofT on college street; the building has to be more than 50 years old.

there's a Christmas tree display at the florist shop; but the mood of the day is reflected on the glass windows - overcast and grey.
