day 1037 - the spy who came in from the cold

the image just evokes that title to mind.

day 1034 - published

three of my photographs were published by the newspaper 'hellas news', a greek publication with offices in toronto and new york. the photos can be found in the back cover of the thick holiday supplement of the paper. quite chuffed with meself, obviously. if you have a chance, get your free copy (at least i think they're free). i'll be showing it to my friend frankie who is a bonafide grecian goddess who will read the captions for me. my thanks to the good people at hellas news!

day 1026 - island berries

went to the islands today for my project. along the boardwalk, there were lots of trees with these red berries.

day 724 - bird shadows

don't know what kind of birds these are, but they are small, dark and noisy. and from the looks of it, these are the only bird shots i can take: when they are sitting still.

day 666 - hangers on

surprised that (i was told) there had been some snow in november while i was away, and yet i find that some of the trees have not totally shed off their leaves, like this maple on victoria street. leaves are all intact and you have to yank them off the branches. just hanging on for dear life, i suppose.

day 582 - high moon

at the beaches waiting for a good photo op, but no such luck. only the moon and the boat anchored well away from the shore.

day 378 - gazebo

this is the gazebo that can be found on the grounds of St. James Cathedral on King and Church Streets.

day 353 - birds

on a cold, cold day, these birds are all huddled together up the hydro wires on main street and danforth. this is just a portion of the wire i took. that wire to the left was also covered with these black birds. the alfred hitchcock movie came to mind. yowsers!

day 315 - business sign

"hear for life", get it?

snowy day in toronto, not a lot but steady. the nice thing? it's not bitter cold. which is good for a change.

day 310 - buddha

crappy night tonight and i knew i didn't have any food at home. i passed by the new chinese restaurant so i thought why not try it? if i stick to just one rice item and a veggie item, it won't hurt my pocket too much. so i ordered shrimp fried rice and stir fried bokchoi. and whilst waiting for my order, i was staring at this little buddha they had on the counter, with a little crystal ball that had water spinning inside it. well, it was something to amuse myself and forget my hunger.

day 309 - the york station

we went for our office group Christmas lunch and because it was too cold outside, we walked the underground through the royal york hotel and passed by this bar. nothing exciting, although the lunch (the meal) itself was pretty good.
