actually there are no stars tonight, just heavy clouds and fogs and mists. one of my 365 rejects. don't know how those two bluish flares came from.

a group of canada geese decided to 'park' where cars should be, in fact, mother goose there seemed content. watch out for the droppings!

this van is fighting the 29 degrees heat quite well...it's all frosted, with icicles forming underneath it.

there are clouds in the sky today, but the sky opened up well and good when i started taking photos. which was nice.

day 886 - freaky!

there are echinaceas and other daisy type flowers around the parking lot next door. i found this, a freakish flower. nice to look at but freakish nonetheless.

day 885 - teeny tiny spider

after the fierce storm that sort of paralyzed the city, we passed by the grocery store and parked near the trees. while waiting in the car, i thought i'd take photos of the rain drops on the needles. i found this little critter instead, as tiny as a pinhead. there you go, my first spider and spider web shot.

day 884 - turquoise

turquoise is a prized gemstone whose intense blue colour is often mottled with black or brown minerals. the name comes from the french turquoise, meaning "turkish", because it came to europe through turkey originating from iran. this turquoise and diamond necklet is of the highest quality persian turquoise, a name denoting colour rather than source.

day 882 - a giant pear

we had lunch at the strathcona hotel yesterday and this giant pear was sitting on top of the buffet counter. it is not real, of course.

day 881 - sundown at the boardwalk

lotsa things going on: a jogger decided to do his push ups right there at the pier, as 10 kayaks passed by and of course, the sailboats were out in that beautiful weather.

day 880 - baklawa

once in a while i would have a craving for baklava and the best place for me to get it is at the st. lawrence market. you have a choice of triangle or cigar shape. doesn't matter: they are the best baklava in town.

there's only one market in toronto: the st. lawrence market. coming here any day of the week is a special occasion.

the partner said this is called licorice in the farm where he grew up. so that's what i will call them. or pretty little purple flowers by the roadside.

sailboats galore at the lake today. too hot inlands but beautiful on the waters. and i have to view this from the office!

day 862 - vintage car

came upon a wedding at the lutheran church near the gardens. the father of the bride is driving this beautiful vintage car to the front of the church where the couple awaits. the couple drove off, the groom at first not knowing what to do with clutch and such, probably, because the car coughed and died twice before he jerkingly drove away into wherever. at the back there's a sign that says "just married" and attached are tin cans which really made for a loud clanging sound as they left. i love my camera!

day 861 - wanna buy a bridge?

a painting on the wall of east side mario's restaurant where we had a late lunch/early dinner today. shows a schematic map of new york city. here's the part of the brooklyn bridge and note the two men at the top. one says: wanna buy a bridge? and the other: how much? hilarious!

it's in abundance at the allan gardens.
