day 863 - flotilla

sailboats galore at the lake today. too hot inlands but beautiful on the waters. and i have to view this from the office!

day 676 - dart vader

close up of one of the ducks. had his head been all black he'd really be dart vader. he's the meanest looking of all and when i took this photo, he was coming directly towards me but thankfully veered towards left and i was able to take this shot. what is with the tail?

day 675 - return of the jedi

i am truly scared of these ducks. they look weird and scary. they look like dart vader's minions, those white clad soldiers in star wars. must check if these are the same ducks that chased me during the summer. maybe they change their appearance during the colder months. hmmm...interesting.

day 674 - the boardwalk

from the entrance to the ferry station, this is the view of the lake and the islands. quite cold but there are still a few people taking in the bright sunshine.

day 673 - bird attack

at the boardwalk at lunch, a woman threw scraps of food at the water and suddenly out of nowhere these seagulls appeared and swarmed the water. eerie but i managed to take a few shots. turned out it was a set up for her husband who was taking photos of the birds. hah! i'd have called the cops on them had i not gotten a few good shots.

day 620 - caught!

i was trying to photograph the dark cloud formation over lake ontario from inside the office and this air canada plane just whizzed by.

day 601 - new beginnings

that's the name of this baby, moored at the harbourfront tonight. with sleek wood

trimmings. must be for private rentals. kinda cold today with a very strong breeze.

day 600 - a rainbow

i was giving my boss instructions (yes, that's what i meant to write) how to find his missing e-mails, when i turned around and saw this beautiful partial rainbow at the lake. he turned to admire it, too, but didn't believe me when i told him there's another one on the right. it may not be visible to anyone else, but when i processed it in negative colours, yes, there was a second one. here you could barely see it. but it's there, trust me.

day 596 - back at the lake again

mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?

day 376 - one more time for the frozen lake

we were having a big 'thaw' in toronto today and this was how the lake looked like in the afternoon when the temperature got to around plus 5, but with the 61 kmph winds, the water was a tad stirred that's why there is that gap in the freezing water. and until i zoomed in, i didn't realize that there were two huge barges docked right there. hah!

day 366 - cold, cold toronto

lake ontario taking on the sunset...it is a miserably cold day today. miserable. really.

day 195 - relaxing at the harbourfront

sitting by the waters, taking in the beautiful sunshine, the cooler air (a change from the last several days when it was hot, humid and hot!), the scenic view of the lake and the island not far away; the boat was a bonus. don't be fooled by the beautiful waters though, it is still cold as hell!

day 145 - sailboats

pardon the color of this photograph. i took it from inside our office on the 38th floor of the RBC south tower, the windows of which, as some of you might not know, are covered with 24 karat gold leaf, hence the unnatural colour.

it was a beautiful day today, 25 celcius but a tad breezy to make for a comfortable summer day. and a nice day to go sailing. the sailboats were out in full force at the lake and it was a fantastic sight to behold. i just had to take a picture!
