day 723 - it is cold

or so it seems, only because it's windy and i couldn't get these grasses to stay put, it was actually difficult to take any decent photo. buti got my macro for the day and even if i don't post it on 365, it's good enough for here. well, maybe.

day 722 - i'm comin' out!

that's what the sun would say if it could actually talk. it's crazy, this weather, one minute it's snowing, the next it's raining, then the next the sun is shining, then it's cold, then it's windy, then nothing. enough to make you coo-coo in the head.

day 721 - the sun is inside

my friend virginia and i had lunch then went on hunting for a table easel. we came upon this 'craft' store where they sell all these items you want in your home but collect too much dust but still you want them in your home. this is mr. sun displayed by the door of the store, collecting dust no less. it's made of painted glass and some metal-type materials.

day 720 - moon over the danforth

crazy weather we had today. morning was a bust with heavy grey clouds and misty rain. then the wind picked up and it was so cold. then it died down, but there was snow and then rain. in the afternoon, the clouds parted, the sun shone and the sky was a happy blue. in a short bus ride, the weather changed yet again to blowing snow. went to the laundromat, put in my clothes in the washing machines. walked back to the apartment, blowing snow still but the ground was just wet. ate a small slice of pizza, after 20 minutes, i decided i'd go back and check the wash. what do you know, the ground was covered with the white stuff, thick and made the sidewalk quite slippery. still snowing, wind still blowing. i look up and saw a star. what gives? then as i walked there was this thingie the moon. what to do? when i got back home with the laundry, i ran right back outside with the camera and took this shot. hello.

day 719 - green tea

nothing like a mug of steaming japanese green tea on a cold windy day. especially after another sushi lunch (again).

day 718 - another thing that makes you go....hmmmmm!

these flower shop's display window normally has elegant displays. i think this time this was overdone. or maybe it's nice during the day. well, yeah, that must be it. must be the night lighting. :-0 love the big vase outside though. shivers!

day 717 - things that make you go: "what the f***!"

well, me at least, that's what i said. out loud. in public. as i cringed. are these supposed to be brains? but what animal has elongated brains? or maybe these are penises? of what animal? oh, i wanted to remove that ladle just so i could get a better shot of these....these....whatever these were. but i was afraid to even get my hand near there, lest those penises-brains grab me and...oh, what horrible thoughts pervade my brain (that is not elongaged). shivers!

day 716 - an apple a day

makes 7 apples a week, 30 or 31 in a month (sometimes 28), 365 in a year. i eat my apples and pears with really old cheddar or gouda. the best. good for the teeth, too!

day 715 - another show

the lake is calm, but it is too damn cold outside. beyond, in another town, the sun shines, and from afar, we get to admire this handiwork. (sorry for the tilt. you'd think i've been doing this for so long now that i should at least get my horizons straight.)

day 714 - day is done

and god paints the sky with wonderful lines and colours, just for us. but how many actually appreciate it? do we ever drop what we do just so we could watch this spectacular show? well, i do sometimes. (taken at the speed of 120 kmph, the car that is.)

day 713 - man against nature

typical street scene: concrete lamp posts and wires, sometimes the occasional cranes; they ruin the beauty around us, but we need them sometimes. no matter how ugly they are, mother nature seem to offset that with a lovely blue sky and a wonderful bright sun.

day 712 - goose and straw

gooseberries and strawberry 'tis all. playing with lighting and the simple colours available.

day 711 - the odd one out

what is it? it looks different. nice scent.

day 710 - look at me: i'm so red!

this looks inviting, you almost want to sit and just watch the world go by. but you'd be a fool to do that because when i took this, it was -7 with a windchill of -10. see the dusting of the snow that have fallen earlier in the morning. we can wait until it's spring.

day 709 - missing city skyline

it's foggy the whole day today. the only blessing is that you can see the flatiron building in detail without the clutter of the highrises in the background. lovely, isn't it?

day 708 - the morning moon (again)

the moon was beautiful against the blue almost cloudless sky, illuminated by the rising sun.

day 706 - afternoon delight

the afternoon sky was a beautiful backdrop for these budding trees.

day 705 - lamp

we ate at "kalyvia" (a greek restaurant) tonight and the meal was so refreshing from the usual. oooooo-pah!!!

day 704 - today is a miserable day
