day 752 - has spring sprung yet?

the trees and plants at the parkette are bearing buds, but why not, spring is in about 10 days time, isn't it?

day 751 - magic sun

day 750 - bike rack

and a cool sky, ain't it?

day 749 - crab balls

went to have dimsum with some high school friends. i ate this, called crab balls, because they didn't have shrimp balls. doesn't look so appetizing, but surprisingly tasted quite good. and just looking at it gives me the heebie-jeebies!

day 748 - the flatiron building

it was cold and miserable, no precipitation but just the wind is such a bitch. but i had to go alphabet hunting so i was back downtown even though it's the weekend. passed by the gooderham flatiron building and with what little sunlight, i thought the stairs looked quite good.

day 747 - foggy day

you'd think it's evening in this shot, but it's the middle of the day. weather is crappy! i can't stand weather like this.

day 746 - the restaurant ship

on my hunt for letters of the alphabet, passed by captain john's and had a glance at the menu. the fares sounded good and i was surprised by the prices. in fact they have lunch specials for just under $8. that is not bad! and i resolve to go there one of these days for lunch.

day 745 - hands

a painting seen in a display wall at the king subway station.

day 744 - blue sky

the skies opened up and the sun smiled upon us. there was just one problem: it was windy and friggin' cold!!!!

day 743 - two days later...

what a difference the snow makes. the snowy park from the 18th.

day 742- winter wonderland

scene from yesterday's snow assault. this was taken at nine in the morning. cold and snowy.

day 741-A - bye-bye!

day 741 - i'm ready for my close up, mr. demille!

at the woodbine park, the whole place was covered with the white fluffy stuff. i was taking pano shots of the place to include the trees on the left and the evergreens on the right when this couple with their two dogs passed. i didn't mind as i was still setting up my shot. one of the dogs just stopped and sat right there in the centre with the great gazebo behind him. the couple were calling out to them. i peeked at my viewfinder and thought, what the heck is he doing there. but he just sat there while the other dog pranced about. so i had to press the shutter and i shouted "okay!" and only then did the dog stand up and joined his masters. it's too bad i hadn't zoomed him in, but i wasn't really thinking of taking his picture. he barked somewhat when they were quite far and didn't stop until i waved at him.

well, at least he didn't come close. other dogs were so playful they'd come near me and i'd be so terrified!

day 740 - on a drive by

met up with partner uptown and he bought me my favourite pizza diana from our favourite pizzeria. saw this on the way home and snapped it as he accelerated across the main thoroughfare and beat the other cars. the dangerous things we do.

day 739 - sweet roses

my roses are still fresh and pretty even after a whole week has passed. a change of water and some mist sprayed on the flowers and presto!

day 738 - a red vespa

saw this very attractive red vespa on a side street in downtown toronto at lunch today. and i was all set to go all the way uptown to find something interesting to shoot. turned out i didn't have to go too far.

day 737 - not really left overs

but i sort of forgot to take a photo of the chocolates i got from partner. i can't tell you the different flavours, but the elongated one in the centre (the reddish thing) has blackcurrant inside. which i so love.

day 736 - pink bouquet

the obligatory valentine flowers were exchanged. set me back $40. but it's good for my photography hobby. but how many photographs of flowers can one take? in my case, a lot! lots and lots.

day 735 - snowy morning

woke up and first thing i saw out the window is snow falling like there's no tomorrow. but ten minutes later, when we went out to have breakfast, it stopped. the streets were slushy and eeky. but here by the waters, the pristine scenery looked so calming. but the wind is so fierce it changes your perception so quickly.

day 734 - camouflage

hard to get this little bird on camera. moved around too much. and it blended in with the dead leaves. but what surprised me with this picture were the greens starting to sprout from underneath the dead leaves. yay! spring's here!
