day 450 - the car

well, i finally showed my face, and it's about time, isn't it? this morning, my sister and i were leaving carol stream to go back to toronto. and i thought i better have a picture taken with this car, a chrysler, for which i'd be paying big money just to drive it. it drives very smoothly and i liked it so much it makes me want to buy it. no, not really!

day 447 - geese

early this morning, i went for a long brisk walk. i head the sounds geese make and got my little camera ready. where'd i see them? on top of houses. about half a dozen of them making all that noise. that early in the morning. i was waiting for someone to shoot at them but no such luck (after all, i am in america!). they were really noisy, though!

day 446 - on a bright sunny day

in carol stream, illinois. while my sister hears a mass, i am stalking the birds outside of corpus christi church. the birds are singing, mating and taunting me, knowing i wanted so desperately to take their pictures in flight, close up, but this is the most that they'd make me.

day 445 - yellow or orange tulip?

both! the variegated kind. just starting to bloom, by the churchyard. on a nice sunny day.

day 106 - la pieta

a sculpture replicating 'la pieta' stands at the entrance to St. Isidore's Cemetery in Bloomingdale, Illinois, beside the St. Isidore's church.

day 105 - "peace"

in the garden at the back of a church in bloomingdale, illinois, there is a small brick column with inscriptions that says "peace", "salaam", and "shalom" amidst the flora and fauna. there you can sit and simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden, in the company of beautiful flowers, and today, amidst the bright and warmth of sunshine.

day 104 - flowers for erica

the decor roses were made of sugar and lard for the ube (taro) cake; the cake we transported from toronto to carol stream in illinois; the cake we transported in the red PT cruiser, but not after we got a full and complete multiple inspection at the US border. damn that red car, first time i saw i knew it was trouble. but the cake was sooooo good!!!

day 58 - take my picture, i'm pretty!

this bird was playing in my brother's front yard and no matter what noise we made by the car, it remained unfrazzled; when we started taking pictures, it just moved about like a model, as if it knew there were cameras aimed at it.

day 57 - flower arrangement #3 and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AIDA

moseyed on down to jewel/osco to get eggs and milk; but instead i found cheap but very lovely flower arrangement for my sister-in-law's easter dinner table.

day 56 - happy easter everyone!

jillie made easter eggs especially for her papa, inscribing on each egg some of her pa's favourite expressions.

day 55 - the proof

it IS definitely spring! this tree proves it: little berries and leaves coming out all over its branches. the same can be said everywhere. la-la-la-la-la-laaaa!
