day 723 - it is cold
or so it seems, only because it's windy and i couldn't get these grasses to stay put, it was actually difficult to take any decent photo. buti got my macro for the day and even if i don't post it on 365, it's good enough for here. well, maybe.

day 721 - the sun is inside
my friend virginia and i had lunch then went on hunting for a table easel. we came upon this 'craft' store where they sell all these items you want in your home but collect too much dust but still you want them in your home. this is mr. sun displayed by the door of the store, collecting dust no less. it's made of painted glass and some metal-type materials.

day 720 - moon over the danforth
crazy weather we had today. morning was a bust with heavy grey clouds and misty rain. then the wind picked up and it was so cold. then it died down, but there was snow and then rain. in the afternoon, the clouds parted, the sun shone and the sky was a happy blue. in a short bus ride, the weather changed yet again to blowing snow. went to the laundromat, put in my clothes in the washing machines. walked back to the apartment, blowing snow still but the ground was just wet. ate a small slice of pizza, after 20 minutes, i decided i'd go back and check the wash. what do you know, the ground was covered with the white stuff, thick and made the sidewalk quite slippery. still snowing, wind still blowing. i look up and saw a star. what gives? then as i walked there was this thingie the moon. what to do? when i got back home with the laundry, i ran right back outside with the camera and took this shot. hello.

day 717 - things that make you go: "what the f***!"
well, me at least, that's what i said. out loud. in public. as i cringed. are these supposed to be brains? but what animal has elongated brains? or maybe these are penises? of what animal? oh, i wanted to remove that ladle just so i could get a better shot of these....these....whatever these were. but i was afraid to even get my hand near there, lest those penises-brains grab me and...oh, what horrible thoughts pervade my brain (that is not elongaged). shivers!

day 694 - new year left over
this was my breakfast for new year morning. something similar to the home of long ago: champorado or chocolate porridge (glutinous rice cooked in a lot of cocoa and water) with condensed milk (just a little bit so i don't get very sick), whole wheat buns and extra old gouda cheese. left overs are always good. reminds me of home when this was a luxury to have. the porridge was made with regular rice (sometimes spoiled left over rice, re-cooked to freshen it up), regular breakfast buns and just plain cheese, not this expensive gouda crap. back then, it was breakfast of champions.

day 693 - tide's inn
in weeding out my junk drawers, i found this unfinished cross stitch project, one among four. this was the second project of my cross-stitch phase back in the mid-nineties. other more complicated projects came after this causing me to abandon finishing this up. i had considered framing it without stitching the 'outlines' because i thought it was nice in itself. but i didn't want to frame a half-ass project so i started the outlines but i got bored as, as i had said, i've done more complicated projects after i started this and i felt the outlines were too 'amateur' for me. so it went into the back burner. eight years ago, i actually started to re-do the outlines but by then i was way past my 'crafty' stage and for a third time this project got abandoned again.
today, my young niece, who used to watch me do this very project as a little girl, asked if she could finish it for me. so i gave it to her along with two others for her to finish. i told her when at the time i started doing this that she will 'inherit' all my projects when i die. well, i haven't died yet obviously but what's to keep me from letting her inherit the project if it would mean having them finished. i'd probably be paying for the framing though. well, it's good to see them finished while i am alive.
